The company’s vision is to put a new twist on the old, crafting personalized paper designs using vintage techniques like letterpress and engraving in fresh and modern ways. Textured paper. Founded in 2004, allie munroe was created by two Miami-based entrepreneurs, friends and mothers, Alison O’Keefe and Kristen Munroe. Friends for more than a decade, one could say they became grown-ups together. Double dating with their future husbands. Bridesmaids in each other’s weddings. Sharing the joy of becoming moms.

It was during the baby phase of their lives that the idea for allie munroe was hatched. In search of one-of-a-kind baby shower invites and announcements with personality, Alison grew disillusioned with the fast food, cookie-cutter options being offered. Being a designer herself, she felt the key was in the details. To her, it wasn’t just paper, it was a keepsake, a memento, part of your family’s history.

She decided to create her own. At first, Alison developed her original designs for friends and family, mostly as gifts. Soon, Alison found herself fielding more and more requests for orders, including ones from her good friend, Kristen. A business was born.

Today, using time-honored techniques, allie munroe has expanded its collection to include baby, holiday, social stationery and party invitations. Classic and cool. Sleek and chic. Funky and fun. allie munroe prides itself on creating lasting impressions.

A skilled and experienced graphic designer with a degree in architecture, Alison O’Keefe is allie munroe’s creative visionary. Prior to striking out on her own, Alison spent more than 15 years working in the corporate world with leading media and advertising companies including Nickelodeon, Beber Silverstein and Hill Holiday.

Alison prides herself on toggling between old and new art forms – from hand drawing designs to mastering the latest graphic arts software. She believes classic design is timeless.

When she’s not in her studio, Alison delights in being wife to Doug and mom to her first grader, Sawyer, preschooler Liam, and 2 year old Mac. And if she still has time after that, she is a sucker for antiquing and traveling. She loves the satisfaction of unearthing a treasure among the long rejected.

With more than a decade of business experience, Kristen Munroe manages allie munroe’s strategic planning, sales, marketing and operations. Having worked for leading companies like Carnival Corporation, Bearing Point, Ryder Systems and AT Kearney, Kristen has expertise in establishing systems and management which focus on what matters most in any business -- the customer.

She ascribes to the philosophy of “do at least one good deed a day.” Whether it’s helping a client who has a special request or watching a friend’s kids while she runs to the doctor, Kristen believes you should try to leave the world a better place than you found it.

A mother of 4 year old boy and girl twins, Madison and Wirth Jr. and infant Warren, Kristen and her husband, Wirth, dream of one day boating around the globe with their kids exposing them to new places, languages and cultures.
